If you're a fan of the arts, then you're a fan of Special Olympics Southern California. Thank you for coming to David Ilan's site, getting your dot, and being a part of changing lives for persons with intellectual disabilities. Your commitment of time and money ensures all of our athletes continue to receive sports training and competition that is free to them and their families.

I started having friends, have worked with, and am an advocate for people who have special challenges, since I was 6 yrs old and love it. I myself have disabilities and all of friends have dx. I find it easier to enjoy and be around people who are challenged because they seem more natural, honest, rewarding than people who don't have challenges.
I would like to challange David Ilan to do Points with Purpose for those rape victims and/ or sexual assault survivors who have major disabilities to support people in these special circumstances. They need to have their voices and stories told also so they know they aren't alone.
Thank You
Susan

I am a Pet Partner's Therapy Dog and have had the privilege to take my mom to a Special Olympics competition. I loved seeing and visiting with all the athletes, seeing them smile and just how hard they have worked. It is great to see them after they have competed and know that they are not "upset" that they did not "win", but that they were happy because they competed and gave it their all. To bad the rest of the humans can't be that way too. It was also great to see and hear the people who came out to support the athletes and their encouragement to those who were coming in last. Everybody was made to feel good and that they were a winner because they finished.

Hope I can be invited to another competition as I really enjoyed getting petted by all these great athletes.

Love,

Cinder

I attended one of the Special Olympics events at UCLA many years ago and it always had a lasting impact on me. There's nothing like the positive spirit.

I am an advocate of inclusive education ever since my typical needs children started attended CHIME Charter Elementary School in Woodland Hills, which is a true model of inclusive education. I am writing a book about the school in hopes of spreading this model to other schools throughout America and around the world. (Jerry Biederman)

I support the Special Olympics for all the people in the world that have a completive sprit but most of all the love towards life that we all should have. I personally know one little boy who's name is Jon Hill, he has the energy and will that all of us should have towards life. His enthusiasm is remarkable. You Go Jon Jon!
